Well, a month has passed since the March issue of RMC came out. The response was great and it was an opportunity to re-establish connections with many of my old customers and acquaintances.
With a new issue out, I've updated my Flickr site with the remaining full size/hi-res photos I developed to write the article for the March issue:
For those of you who follow RMC, I would recommend the next (April) issue of RMC. It features the work of Mike Rose - another modeler from Massachusetts! Mike is well known not only in MA, but across the modeling community for his layout & the skill & knowledge that ent into his build. The April issue features his amazing Conrail Lehigh line. This a must see for Conrail fans, especially as
it's the 50th anniversary of the line - time flies!
By mid or late spring I hope to post some pics of my progress on my yard, It's a tricky area with challenges in access due to the depth. In February I posted a couple pics on Flickr of the completion of some areas around the Brick Roundhouse. I have since completed the track work (final location, ballasting, weathering, etc.) of the staging area, which is the hardest to reach. I'm currently working on the final location of the Myers feed mill and a larger attached project. This involves an extension with some adds to Myers, additional feed mill and some track modifications.
A couple of pics below of my present mock-up. Only Myers and the concrete elevator are complete everything else (of the feed mills) are tests, mock-ups, unpainted feed bins & other accessories by Kevin Tully...Time permitting, at a later date I'll post some pics of feed mill activity (past and present) in the Connecticut River valley area. It's 15 minutes from where I live and the nexus of past and present rail activity. Bottom line, lots of inspiration!
